Yes. To keep the experience personal and hands-on, most classes are limited to 12 participants. This way, everyone gets plenty of guidance, attention, and space to cook comfortably.
If you're interested in booking a private group class with more guests, feel free to contact us directly — we’ll help create a custom experience that fits your group’s needs.
Each class at Mestizo Academy is carefully planned, and many ingredients are sourced especially for the menu — I completely understand that life can be unpredictable! However, because our classes are small, require special ingredients, and involve significant preparation, class fees cannot be refunded or transferred if canceled within 5 days of the day of class.
That said, if you cancel more than 5 days in advance, I’m happy to help you move your spot to another class — please note a 25% no-refundable service fee applies, or if you can't attend to class, feel free to to ask a friend or family member attend instead just let me know the name as soon as possible.
Please make transfer requests within 7 days of your cancellation, and transfers are only valid if the new class has available spaces.
If you don’t show up or cancel late (within the 5 days window), the full class fee will be charged since it’s not possible to fill your spot on short notice.
In the rare case that I need to cancel or reschedule a class — due to weather, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances — I’ll notify you at least 3-5 hours before the class starts. If you’re unable to attend the rescheduled date, you’ll receive credit toward a future class.
I know things happen, and I’m committed to offering as much flexibility as possible.
Thanks so much for your understanding — your support helps us deliver meaningful, high-quality culinary experiences every time.
